Silvertone-$50

Just put some "Chromes" on my newest GC find...an old 4 string Silvertone J-style bass for $50. Love the tone! Deep and growly..somehow the flatwounds made it sound more aggressive. Definitely not bad for a bass that has cost less than $100 total.

LOL, I just upgraded from a Silvertone that I put flatwounds on trying to make it have that James Jamerson sound, worked pretty decent for that for the price I paid and it served it's purpose to teach me how to play and give me some dexterity, still keeping it for that deep thuddy tone alone!

My first Bass in the 60's was a Sivertone. My guitar case had a small amp and I think a 6 or 8 inch speaker in the case. Lucky find for you.
