Thanks to the guys who sent me the G&L way. Thw JB2 is right on the money.

To the guys talking about right angle cables:
If I was looking for a right angle cable, my original post would be, "I'm looking for a cable, but I don't like how most of them point straight out. I'd like a cable that leave the jack at a 90 degree angle (45 degrees is acceptable). Bonus points for sunburst." Answer the question or GTFO.

I totally understand where you are coming from however I just ignore the jack on Fender basses and SGs.

Is the Yamaha's bridge pickup a single coil? Yes.

Is it a JAZZ pickup? No - but it sounds very Jazz-like in tone as I stated earlier.

And as to if it should (or shouldn't), try soloing a Hofner's single coil bridge pickup...does it sound like a Jazz? Not to my ears... But IMHO, the Yamaha's does.

Maybe it's because I'm up so late looking.

I want a four string, passive, jazz bass. (p/j is acceptable)
It needs to be $800 or less.

Here's the hard part, apperantly.
I hate basses with the jack on the front face, pointing straight out. The jack needs to be either on the bottom or at least poitioned like a stratocaster.

Do you fella's have any guidance for where I can find one of these? Bonus points for sunburst finish.
Buy an SX and you can get 6 for that price.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

Fernandes Gravity 4 X fits this, if I recall.

Passive, J pickups, input jack at the bottom right.

This is $199 and will destroy any import bass under $800.
