Single-cut basses (Cliff Bordwell and others)

What are some non-aesthetic differences between a single-cut bass and a standard double-cut body? I mean in terms of tone, playability, etc. I'm asking specifically because I'm considering getting a Cliff Bordwell SC bass, but I suppose it applies to any single-cut bass, so I'm posting outside of the Bordwell threads.

I dont think there are any great differences, beside the possibility it would have more sustain with the more wood being used.

More sustain, neck stability. Also balances the bass quite nicely, much less neck dive.

It adds about 5% more wood to the front of the body, so you've got about 5% more protection from being stabbed. A worthy investment if you ask me.

Well then, I suppose you have more important things to worry about than if your bass is a singlecut or not.
