Singlecut body with Fender type neck?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've seen a few bolt on singlecuts, but has anyone ever made a singcut body that would fit a Fender neck? If Warmoth started making a singlecut style body, would people buy them?

I was under the impression that the majority of single-cut basses are designed neck-thru with a significant amount of the top side of the neck adjoining the body, hence the "improved" sustain or stability or whatever they claim it does.

Not sure how that would work with a pre-made, pre-contoured Fender type neck.

Very true. But, Clement basses are bolt on with a singlecut style body, and though I have not played one, it looks great and from what I hear feels great also.

Could you make your own singlecut body? And why do you want to fit a Fender neck to one?

If I was experienced enough to cut a body, sure I could. Fender necks are super common, so with a body made for one you could use a Fender, Squier, SX, Warmoth, or any other type of similar neck with it. I'm curious as to why I've never seen one.

Looks a little odd to me. Maybe if the top "horn" cut back towards the body a little before meeting the neck again, so it's not a 45 degree angle?

Maybe if the pickguard was ditched and the treble horn reshaped, it'd look less like a horny whale.

THIS, and no control plate. I love the look of the last prototype. Do you guys think there would be a market for these?
