Sleek Guitars. Somebody's gotta talk me out of this.

Haven't had any gas in a while. I thought there was something wrong with me. I'm happy to say that it's returned, but not in a good way.

Talk me out of this please:

Bassmunnky 12-19-2012 09:24 AM

It's gonna hurt your arm, and you'll poke your eye out.

NO wait...I just looked at it too fast....

It' will cut up your stage pants as well!

It's the SYBIL Guitar!

The SLR4 Neck Thru Model has been scientifically proven to cause hair loss and skin tag formation.

How long's that neck? How floppy do you think that E string is going to be?

Marial 12-19-2012 09:32 AM

A reversible bassuitar...

Yeah... no.

Joe Nerve 12-19-2012 09:45 AM

I realized a coupla things on my own, after my original "holy crap this is awesome and I gotta have one!!" thought.

How does one flip it while playing with a strap? I guess it wouldn't be too difficult, but it's only going to hang properly in one position.

It's a neck through. How would neck be adjusted? One of the 2 is going to have to be compromised.

And unless flipping it turns one on and the other off, it seems it wouldn't really make for a quick change during songs.

Think of the fun that could be had though in a band with 2 guys playing these things. :)

Gas is subsiding, but it's not gone yet.

If you get this, the thumb of your fretting hand will hate you.

dtripoli 12-19-2012 09:57 AM

It would be faster to simply set your gig bass down and pick up your gig guitar than to reverse this schizophrenic bass-guitar, change strap locations, change amps-settings...not to mention the discomfort of having 6 strings digging into your mid section while playing bass.

This. Fretting either the bass or guitar would drive me nuts. Ugh.

RobJ 12-19-2012 11:14 AM

What The Frederick???

Just when I thought I'd seen it all in guitar design....

You know if you put a slide on your fretting hand thumb you might just have the fastest playing neck on the planet? Looking for the pony in the manure pile here...

nukes_da_bass 12-19-2012 11:49 AM

Krappy makes a Flipitar. Order from Krappy!

Atomic Al 12-19-2012 11:51 AM

Purge it with fire

TheEmptyCell 12-19-2012 12:48 PM

Hideous and pointless.

Now, only 550 bucks for "the world's most technologically advanced guitar" doesn't sound so bad, does it? Although if this is an example of "Pragmatic Creativity" I must have had the wrong idea about pragmatism. - Awful web site.

Maybe you could even play thumb slide on the underside while in bass mode, or thumb bass notes while guitaring it?

Yuck.
