Small nut width bass

I was comparing the basses I have and found that I prefer a smaller nut width. The comfortable one was less than an inch and a half...maybe 1 1/4. That's what it seemed like from rough measurements.

Anyway, I'm looking to spend 1000+- 200 on a bass. I want the thin width at the top. I'd like pj pickup configuration and I think a u shaped neck. Recommendations?

Fender Performer I played one years ago and the neck was like a broom stick.

Or, try this thread.

Never seen a 1 1/4 nut. Had a Dean Edge 4 once that was 1 7/16. Nice bass for cheap. A zillion 1 1/2 nuts out there. G&L makes my favorite profile.

The measurement was an estimate. It's definitely below an inch and a half. I would like to find a five string, but I know the smaller width is unreasonable for 5 strings. I know that when I get better with overall technique that it may not matter as much, but that ESP feels so nice.

I'm pretty sure Carvin 5 strings have a 1 3/4" Nut width
