It would be better if people a actually used accurate names. It not a "RI" unless it was the actual MIJ Fender "Reissue Series". The "Reissue" was a short-lived series in the early '90s, sorta like an early but not well executed "Classic" series. Same as the "Statndard" series was twenty years ago with cosmetic differences to look older- yellowed poly finishes, vintage appearing hardware, etc. But they had the same crappy electronics, bar-magnet pickups, etc.
Not the same as the MIJ Vintage series from the same period, which were very nice reproductions if vintage instruments.
Much like people calling the semi transparent finish which (Fender actually called "Walnut" ) "mocha" causes confusion because Fender had another finish that's not in any way similar they DID call "Mocha". "RI" is imprecise and not the correct name for most of the instruments described as if it were Fender's name.
Spelling, grammar, and punctuation matter!
