Solo Music Gear kits
 

Anyone ever purchase one of these bass guitar kits from http://www.solomusicgear.com/ ?

I was curious about the quality of these kits for the money. I assume all of the parts are of pretty low quality, but how's the kit itself? Has anyone ever put one of these together that can speak to this?

I purchased a 5 string kit #SL-SRBK-15 in March to build with my son.
The overall quality and fit of the parts was very good. I did upgrade to humbucking pickups as an option.

The only complaint I have is that the instructions were minimal and did not match the kit I bought, wiring color codes, etc.

I will probably buy another kit from them in the future.

How hard is this to assemble for someone with no wiring/soldering knowledge? I'm getting sucked in by the MM..

That's good to know. I haven't made the plunge yet myself, but I find the idea of it interesting/fun.

I've used one of their necks, the finish was pretty rough, and there were saw marks left in the wood, so it did require some work. That being said, it was dead straight and stable, and the fret work was pretty decent.
