Someone's selling an Squier Bass for $600 http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ455529422 I almost dont want to insult him but i would offer $150. What do you guys think?? |
I think there's a bigger issue at hand.. what is Kijiji? :p |
Kijiji is like craigslist in Canada, it means village is swahilli. Is the most popular online classified ad site in the great white north. |

I guess he's asking 600$ for the bass AND the amp. Still it's hardly worth 300$ altogether, brand new. |
There are Squiers that I would pay $600 for but that ain't one of 'em. |
It is an Affinity. It is a $200 bass. Point is, he can ask $6,000 if he wants. |

I live 2hrs from Calgary and I see that happen all the time here in lethbridge :rollno: |
Squires must be worth more than Squiers. |
The address says Windham, ME. I used to live in Brunswick which is pretty close, but still a few hours from Canada. |

Kijiji is the gathering of super overprice sub par deal, but at the same time i have found some really good deals that i got a hold of (like my lakland DJ5 for $750) and deals i wish i had the money at the time to own (i had to pass a 2009 fender AM P5 for $700). |

Just like any other marketplace site (ebay, craigslist, even on here), there are ridiculous prices that pop up, along with amazingly good deals. I suppose if you really wanted the bass and amp, then send the guy a message and try to open up a dialogue with him. Otherwise, why waste the energy - just chuckle at the ad and move along to the next one. |
I guess anyone can have high in the sky hopes, but that has to be more than the new price. $200 for everything is about right. On the other hand, " a sucker is born every minute". I find sometimes when I see stupid prices, the person selling is a "sell it for you" business, or someone that buys and sells anything, and has no idea of what the real value is. |
In Canada, Kijiji and Craigslist are filled with people who think they can sell their gear at full retail price just because they are not charging taxes. That includes the price of all the crappy accessories they were tricked into buying. Would not be surprised if that guy paid that bass, amp, strap, tuner, etc a LOT more than 600$. Just trying to pay their bad deals forward :) But, you can also find some good gems sometimes. I recently got a great deal on a T1M dual solo booster with buffer. That's also where I got a great deal on a PJB Briefcase. You just have to keep looking and looking, but, yeah, 90% of stuff is crazy overpriced, especially in the low end spectrum (epiphone, squier, etc). |

Saw this ad earlier today. I chuckled. Apparently though, it's supporting a good cause.. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...608927363.html |
