| | | | Attached is a picture of my SR505, owned since the early 90's. Please give me a club #.
I am looking to strip the transparent red finish and go with a natural finish or stain. I upgraded to jazz barts when I bought the bass, but I am thinking about replacing the bridge pup with a bart musicman. Any advice on stripping the bass, or suggestions on replacing the pup welcome. thanks |

That's why I thought that the bass in the pic might have a different wood combo...anyway, it sure is a nice one

Before I got off the phone, I asked him if he by chance had any soundgears with p/j's. Sure enough has one with a SR300 quilted top, asking $230. Now I just got to wait on some items Im selling on ebay to get the money to go get it. I could take a few guitars I have hanging on the wall and trade. But the only ones I want to move I dont think the 2 combined would get me $230. He gives you 70% of the highest completed ebay auction. Boy I hope that thing is still hanging on his wall when these auctions close.

| | | | Since this is an Ibanez club, I have to ask? Why do people hate them so much? I am an ameture when it comes to this. I don't hear the difference myself when it comes to basses other than playing around with the knobs. Once again, I can play nice, but crap on knowing what I'm doing or supposed to do. But I see such a disdain for them. I learned on a SR300L. I have owned a Fender Jazz, Rogue LX 205, and now a very nice SR705 (still need to post pics). But again, why do people on these forums seem to hate em? Did they do something to their moms or something? Someone enlighten me please. |

Any time you price things reasonably you'll get labeled as "less than" those that charge a lot of money. A smart man (or woman) will know that the amount you pay and the value you receive are not always the same thing. As I've said before, enjoy it while you can. If the masses ever come to their senses the prices on these things will skyrocket.

Because a lot of ppl prefer to talk instead of playing
Seriously, most folks that diss the Ibby basses have probably never played one, or maybe they've played a cheap entry level model and think all their basses are like that. Or they're...oh well, sorry to say this....gear snobs
I've stopped trying to make ppl understand Ibbys are great basses...it's their loss, not mine I don't care what other ppl think or say about the instruments I'm playing - as long as I know why I'm using them it's all good Let them play expensive fancy toys if that makes them feel better - I get my kicks from my Ibbys and that's all that matters to me
