wow. i found an old cd of my band back in 97 with my old ns-95 back in my college days when i smoked alot of herbage heres a clip. but now that i hear it, i dont like the way my bass was mixed there were no mids.
I really like that song! Nice nice sound! I thought the NS-95 mids sounded really good...they came out better than the lows, IMO. Thank you for sharing.

The 9 volt Haz Pre wll run you $350
The Tonepump only $99
Say what?!?! That's amazing just changing the color makes it look like a whole new different bass! Lol Put Johns bass and this picture of yours side by side...love to see them.

Sure will, don't mind my playing though.... Just warning you ahead of time lol.
But I'll tell you now.... Go ahead and justify the upgrade... It's totally worth it..... Seriously
if anybody on here has to be warned about their playing, its me. lol.
sweet. i was trying to get some answers on the hazlab pre. but i heard it on one of the youtube vids of a german guy reviewing a spector and man does it sound sweet. so yeah im definitley going to look into upgrading my p/u and pre
dude! the rock clip is the tone im looking for so all this time ive been searching for a preamp???? ***??? mike starr from alice in chains is my all time favorite tone, and the first clip is that tone. now i know what i have to invest in. i might have to email pj and ask him if the haz will go into my legend??? or am i going to have to save up for 2 years to get a forte? it never ends.

Funny story, when I first installed the Haz into the Forte and I played the first few notes after the install, I started making strange noises because it sounded so good and my wife an daughter thought something was wrong with me lol.
Im not sure if the Haz will fit in the Legend cavity, it also only works with active EMGs.
but the Tonepump is gonna get you close in tone for only a $99.
im thinking real hard about going that route. man i would be like a kid getting a new bass again. yeah after listening to that clip again, the tonepump is pretty close to the haz. to me, it's not quite as full, but really stinkin close.

I just rememberd I also recorded the Tonepump wired at 18Volts.
The tone is a bit fuller then at 9Volts. I think this is your way to go.

From which end were the "strange noises" emanating?
You've got some great reference "tones" in your recordings
