Imagine my surprise when this arrived today

When Gene Fox said that this was a really excellent bass he was dead on accurate. The electronics are very powerful. This bad boy has two complete 18V HAZ preamps... one for the EMG DCs and one for the Piezos.
I'm already a DC lover thanks to my NS-4. The Piezo is going to be fun to experiment with.
The bass is in overall fabulous condition and I highly recommend doing business with Gene Fox. We spent almost two hours talking about Spector basses over the course of the transaction. He's a really down to earth guy and has a wealth of Spector knowledge accumulated over the past 20+ years. His Spector collection is mind boggling.
Someone should inquire about his SD-5 and his NS-6XL. I wish I could pull together the funds for the SD-5. Hmmm... what can I sell?

Select up to one month old and type in Spector and click the search button. (dont hit enter, it will show everything, that way)
Here are the photos of the NS-6XL and the SD-5 that Gene has for sale.

Imagine my surprise when this arrived today | That is one pretty bass. What's the history (esp. with the bridge)? (Sorry, newb questions. I haven't seen a piezo bridge before.)

Stunning.... Simply stunning. Congrats!
I was bummed when Spector discontinued the piezo option on the NS-2/NS-4 basses. You are a lucky man - Congrats!

Thanks guys... Luck (and Sam) definitely played a role in acquiring this bass.
I got this bass from Gene Fox who has an amazing Spector collection. You can see some of his collection at SpectorWorld: http://www.spectorworld.com/genefoxpg1.htm
This one is a 1995 SSD NS-5p #112. The hardware and electronics are all original and still look and work great. According to Gene he had the bass refinished by the same gentleman that does the original finish work for Spector. The paint looks fantastic as you would expect.
It has the piezo option which includes a special bridge and a second 18V USA preamp with a balance knob and a stacked bass/treble that is dedicated to the piezo function. The piezo pickups in the bridge saddles have individually adjustable trim pots in the base of the bridge. It's a really cool setup that used to be about a $600 option on Spector basses.
If you take a closer look you will notice something else that is different than a stock NS-5 from this era.
I'm very fortunate to be the new owner of this unique white beauty, and it's the perfect complement to my 1994 NS-4.

Not associated with the sale just passing the link along. FS: Euro Spector Bridge, Fender MIJ, Tobias Toby Pro pups, preamp
As a reminder, this would be a direct replacement for a NS-4CR, Euro 4, Euro-4LX, ReBop-4 or ReBop-4DLX. Will not fit on USA or Asian models.
