If nothing else you really shouldn't use silked strings, your strings aren't even touching the saddles. |

The silked strings are a place setter until I get new strings...I tossed on some Rotos that were on another bass after I set it up but I intend on getting some Steel Lo-Riders to replace them.

Might want to try DDT's if you're downtuning. I've never used them though. |

And his bassists always play Spectors. Collin Edwin for Porcupine Tree and Neck Beggs for his solo stuff.
Here's a picture I took of Steven and PJ at NAMM this past January. He's a really, really chill guy. Very nice. | Good info....I loved that video! Very awesome playing and relaxing too. Anyone can recommend any CDs of this band for me check out?...Thanks in advance!

Or I would have one hanging around. But when you put everything together Spector owns it!!...Comfort, Feel and Tone, Spectors A+ in all categories.

I have owned both Metro and NYC Sadowskys and currently own a Forte 5.
Happy problem to compare tones from these 2.

WOW. I actually got chills a couple of times. What an amazing record!

I would check out Grace For Drowning. It's the more recent album and has more of a band vibe than Insurgentes, but they're both great. I will say Wilson's solo stuff takes a few spins to fully absorb since it's very dense.
As far as Porcupine Tree goes, I always recommend In Absentia or Deadwing to start, but Fear of a Blank Planet and The Incident are just as good just not as immediately accessible IMO. The stuff before In Absentia is great too but can be more on the light side of things. |

They played the whole Incident piece live at the Riviera on that tour - great show. That show is actually being released on a live DVD (no Blu-ray ) shortly. |
