Dear God.
You know how sometimes some instruments just "have" it. Well, this certainly does have that and more.
First off, for being almost 30 years old, this bass is in near MINT condition. Absolutely babied and well taken care of.
Then there's the fact that the wood has settled during all that time period which makes is resonate tremendously and last but not least, the USA 9V circuit from back then... Sound simply incredible!
No recording will do this bass justice, it must be listened through an amp and one must experience the thump that it give you.
Absolutely gorgeous bass in both looks and sound!!! Tons of "Mojo"!!!!!!!
This was going to get a black gloss finish, but I think I am keeping it as is...
More photos in the new thread later on. | Thats awesome, I like black spectors too, but that cherry burst is HOT!

Oh well someday I'll find a rebop 4 with good upgrades

Yes the old electronics may have aged well, or maybe were just made with some sort of different ingredient back then. But the wood, being almost 30 years old has settled nicely. So nice that this resonates like an exploding bell. And that is what makes this one "the one". Quote:

More photos in the new thread later on. | For those who don't remember, this bass was being sold by gentleman in my area who was a doctor and no longer played. It hardly was played since he purchased it from Manny's Music in 1986.
He was having a hard time selling it on Talkbass since he first had it way over priced and then had no feedback.
He asked if anyone in the area was a Spector expert who could check the bass out and try to help him sell it.
I PM'd him and he was at my house a few hours later.
He actually offered to leave the bass at my house on July 5th. I had it sold to Omer by July 9th.
I shipped it to Seattle on July 25th. I spent 3 weeks with this bass and it was just amazing. That is one of the reasons why I had shipped it to Omer's friend even though Omer wasn't going to pick it for a while. I just had to get it out of my house or I would have never been able to let it go.
Congrats and I am so glad he was finally able to get it.
