You can always swap the pickup around and have the coils any way you want.

if you swictched out the DCs for the 35p/35J would it still sound the same as a normal spector p/j or not, because wouldnt the 35p have the bass coil and treble coils in their traditional spots as opposed to the reverse p in the normal ns-2 getup?
actaully the EMG 35p is in reversed position. The difference would come from the 18v preamp as opposed to the 9v preamp

No their flipped i believe in the 35p. It sounds the same as a std p/j spector config. All my basses with 35's have p/j 35's in them.

My first USA Spector was an NS-4, and the only reason I went with that model was because I already owned a CRFM and a Euro, both with P/J pickups.
I love the NS-4 - it is the finest bass I've ever owned, but if I could only have one Spector, it would be an NS-2. As others here have stated - it's the classic Spector, and the flagship bass for the company.
Either way, you can't go wrong, and either way, you won't be disappointed.

No.
EMG reverses them internally (as they should be ). So they would be the same as a normal Spector P. The only disadvantage is you can't radius a 35p (40p, 45p) to the string arc like a normal P.

Either you're misunderstanding the question or you need to reevaluate your answer.

if you order a new Euro or US you can get the 40p/40j pups installed, but nothing comes stock like that.

Yeah, I'm going to do the videoing of delivery and unveiling.
Just hope it arrives before Thursday as we'll be out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving. If I know it's going to arrive on next Friday then I'll give them the address where I'll be down state.

I think the NS4 has more tonal range but the NS2 has "that" spector sound.
