I have the same bass but in silverburst. My 1995 Modulus Q5 Sweetspot will likely be with me until I stop playing. Best playing bass (and light as hell with super low action) I have owned. Super underrated basses IMO.

I have a fill-in gig with a 80-90's rock cover band next week and I will be rocking the Forte 5 with the Q5 as a backup!

What pickups, preamp, and strings do you use with that bass.

This was Smadder-ized.

It has a BTC preamp and an EXB. I haven't played a Forte with the Aguilar pre, but mine sounds killer. I don't use the EXB much, but I really like the EMG BTC.

The aguilar is more natural, EMG is more articulate, and Spector preamps (both haz and not) are more growly. Love em all but each for a specific sound!

Cool info!

I was definitely growly last night playing the Forte thru an old Mesa D180 tube amp. Absolutely killer hard rock/metal tone!
