Its a beast on stage....unfortunately the whole rig hasn't been set up in about 9 months....The Bergantino 215 is a perfect match to the Schroeder 412.....and yes the Carvin will do 1900 watts @ 2ohms! Spectors sound huge through this!

And the new stuff (like the b2000 that replaced your 1500s) still sounds amazing, but its different than the pure solid-state signal chain they had going with the first B series heads.

Of course at the time, I hadn't played a Spector yet either... I don't think about that bass much anymore .

This can be verified by Lee also......as well as other TB members! There's nothing wrong with the "Lead Sled" option with amps! Although I am interested to see how my new Aguilar TH500 sounds! Maybe ill do a amp review of the Th500 vs Mesa M6 vs TF550b......hmm. I will use my euro with DCs and 18 volt spector pre.

Of course at the time, I hadn't played a Spector yet either... I don't think about that bass much anymore . | Byron actually had Fender make him his own custom bass. I've played through his rig once with his Jazz bass....The power of the sound was immense...but I am not a Fender fan at all.
His bass is huge. BIG neck and he's got an immense relief on it. I could never slap with that kind of bow!
I've been trying to convince him to move to Spectors for 2 years...Now with the Coda available, I think I started to spark some interest! |

He sent me his little GK MB200 to try out, I am blown away! Then he gave me a unbelievable deal so I can have an amp to use in the room after my transplant in the spring. Thanks Lee, you guys all rock so much here. I thought I was going to have to put out some dough I don't really have right now to get a little practice set up, then I found a little GK cab to go with it, my Mom is getting it for me for Christmas (every year since she stopped smoking 20 years ago, she puts the money she would have spent on cigarettes away and then splits it in half for my Sister and I, this will cover it.)
That little GK just rocks. I am very impressed by it. I am playing through my 8-10 right now, not sure it was designed for that big of cab, but man, it sounds so good!
Thanks again Lee!! You rock!

Probably me Lee likes them as well. I'm a huge fan of how they make my Spectors sound and play. Hmm why do I like them? I like the tension that the mediums offer. A little tighter that other mediums that I have tried. They are very strong in the low mids and the high end response is not too harsh. They stay fresh for a decent amount of time. Before going with the Spector strings I was a Rotosound swing user, then went with Rotobass their nickel on steel strings. The Rotobass remind me the most of the Spector strings. I'll admit that nothing sounds like a fresh set of Rotosounds, but they only last one show The Spectors are worth a try. A lot easier on your frets and a very even, powerful tone. Also, if you like low action, set your bass up with Spector strings! Delicious. And made in the USA! I have been using them for the last few months and have really been enjoying them. |
