My wife thinks it's funny. Originally red, beautifully refinished in natural matte. New EMGs and BQC system. Hipshot D-tuner. I will attempt to attach a picture. |

I bought a '87 NS2A about a week and a half ago and after getting it up to snuff, I gigged it this past weekend! Simply wonderful bass! Mine still has the stock pups and Korean HazLab and it just growls! how does yours sound with the EMG setup in it?

Ideally that is what I would do. It involves going to storage and getting two road cases of equipment and bringing them back to my living room (wife isn't going to be happy) and taking the time of running them all through various tests.......volume......candle test.....etc. And then write notes based on my ears and what I hear. So setup time is going to take a while and I WILL do it............but it wont be tomorrow with my two fulltime jobs! LOL
So.......I will do this test/battle/amp head war over Christmas break which starts December 20th for me..........so expect something that week! Ok? I WANT to do this because I personally WANT to KNOW.......yippee! : hiding: | Oh dude. I had no idea they weren't in the house somewhere. I think we should just do what we do 50-75% of the time and speculate
No rush.

Aside from Clearwave's prototype, I've never seen a naked NS2A. It's a very unique and cool looking Spector.

When I had my fretless Pedulla Buzz I strung it with La Bella black nylon tape wounds, but although the feel was perfect the tone was dull and actually, "flat" (maybe because of bass itself not strings?)... If there's any other options apart from flats that you would recommend for fretless? | I use D'Addario Chromes Flatwound on my Fretless NS-2A. I tried a few others and those seem to give the closest roundwound sound IMHO.

It's my first active bass as well as my first neck-through. I love the shape of the curved body and the neck; the feel of the finish is perfect. Can't wait to gig it! |

| | Registered User | | | | | Good God, do I love this music. Donny. Seriously. I have the DT page up all day and night. This is EXACTLY the kind of music I've always loved: hard (sometimes heavy) rock/metal, great vocal tone and solid harmonies, intelligible lyrics, epic in scope in terms of soundscape... and most importantly - bass lines I want to play .
If DT were based in Atl and needed a bassist, I'd be serial killing to get at the front of the line to audition . And then, you know... afterwards as well, just in case it went to someone I missed before their audition .
When do we get to buy all the tracks/CD? I need to be able to have this in my car and iPod badly.
My friends are in love with it. It just makes me happy like all good music should. You guys really better be proud - you earned the right to strut with this.
(I'm also a gigantic Sevendust fan... so in that vein... heavy music that you can sing to and nod your head to the groove all at once and on almost all the songs. That's happy stuff )

PJ said he thought this was a NS2a prototype. That makes since to me. I think they could have also been considering this instead of the NS2o. It is 1.5" at the nut like the Wimbish, a Schaller roller bridge and a pre Kramer era USA 9v HAZ. For some reason the "Spector" lettering on the truss rod cover is silver. I put active EMGs in it and changed the hardware to black (instead of the gold it had originally.)
