Low G? What gauge are you going to use for that? I tuned down to G# with the .145 and it was floppy but I am hoping that I can do the occasional extra half step down from A if I need to. I know some of the Pantera stuff from Trendkill is tuned down to G# so I can't wait to see how this .158 is.

AHA! I was going to ask you that since I was thinking "how is he pulling that fretless trick on a fretted bass?" How do you like that pedal? Curious how it compares to a Whammy but its not like everyone has $700 to try that old Digitech Bass Whammy. I still kick myself for selling mine when I stopped playing for that period.

The pedal is OK... it tracks fine but not that great. I harmonized a major 2nd with this one. The octave sounds so so and the 2 octaves are just whack!

I just sold my old bass whammy. I would rather have the money. There are some good pitch pedals out now that can do the 5th stuff that are reasonable. As far a the low g maybe I can get an arresting cable from a flight deck.

What I can say is this. The NS-4 seems to not need as much bass compared to the NS-5 and the neck on this thing is amazing. It is super fast and I can just fly around the thing with barely any effort. I had been wanting to add a 4 string to my collection since I really missed having one and was using a non Spector for a bit. It is a great bass but it has a 1.5" nut which I am just not comfortable using so this NS-4 feels so much better in my hands. It's also not as big of a deal switching between the 4 and the 5 now since the NS-4 has a chunky neck compared to the previous bass I was using.
Thanks for your report!

+1! I didn't realize how I prefer 1 vol. control until I had the ReBop. It's a lot handier than 2.

I like that! Thank you for caring enough to make this video about the whales. You probably get to see them up there quite a bit, eh?
