Nah Jeff, you're not nuts...you bought a bass and decided it really didn't fit right. Just wish I had $$$ for it!

I guess technically it was double boxed, in that he used 2 boxes, but yikes! Nice single strand of duct tape to try to hold them together. I'm surprised UPS would even take it like that. $1.00 worth of packing tape and 3 minutes could have made it a lot better. Luck it didn't get really damaged. Says a lot for Spector cases. Did it have the "Spector by Kramer" case? I got one of those cases for my NS-2A 22 years ago and that case has been "TO WAR" and although the case looks like crap, never had anything happen to the bass.

Still have my OHSC for my NS-2A from 1988 and it's worn but still holds up fine. Recently had to fly with her and checked it and had no issues at all.

So I'm in the market for a new 5er and I would love a Spector but just can't deal with the tight string spacing does anyone have any opinions? Budget is a concern too so far I'm considering a Lakland 55-01 or a DJ5 or maybe an MTD Kingston KZ5 or a Brubaker Brute I just don't have the finances for a $3000 bass. A smaller body and light weight are a requirement because I have the physique of a 3rd grader! Some version of a JJ pickup setup would be nice too.

I previously had a Schecter Diamond P5 and it was just too heavy and bulky plus I wasn't thrilled with the sound. I'm in a mostly country band now and a 5er would be a real advantage.

Depends on your budget but the NS-5H2 can be had with wide spacing and JJ pups. Nice and light too!

I've seen those but no way could I consider a $3500 bass I was hoping for something around $1000 or less used most likely.
