Better late than never... | Awesome Chris! Just awesome. Glad you're finally back home to enjoy them.. Oh and hey - I've been using Vitamin Water "revive" (which is actually just "fruit punch" but it does say that on the bottle... better than you going "Oh... 'Revive'... yeah never heard of that flavor. I wonder what 'Zombie Ass' tastes like..."). It's just a ton of potassium, electrolytes and B vitamins. You can actually tell a difference if you drink two of them a day. No caffeine - just a big vitamin jolt to help replenish everything you've been losing from the chemo... and it'll give you more time and energy with those beautiful Spectors (as well as your family)!
Sorry for the digression folks. But I just watched the Walking Dead mid-season closer and was drinking one, looked at the name, looked at what I was watching, and in typical Steve fashion, started laughing my ass off.

So who knows... perhaps next week. For the record, I ordered it in February. But part of my consulting deal is that I've also agreed that other basses will take priority over mine. And that's the way it should be.
PJ Rubal waited 2 years to get his NS-230, 30th Anniversary Bass for this exact reason.
I appreciated the call from PJ asking if I'd mind waiting this morning. And of course my answer was, "not at all" I mean, I have three beautiful USA Spectors here to play already. I can wait for number 4.
I am about to be down to 2 USA models for the moment... my BOB-4 is going back to Greg Felise, who it was originally built for. I agreed to sell it back to him (for the same amount he sold it to me for, of course).
And I'm jamming on the Bass Central website, hoping to get it finished in the next week so I can finally collect and get my gloss black NS-2 from them. And that bass will be my every-day Spector. | That is so generous, patient and big-hearted of you Patrick. Not that any of us here are surprised... but thanks for being such a tremendous help to everyone who needs it.
I know the new Spector site was for Spector and the world, but you can see so many of the discussions we have had on various Spector-specific topics in the site.... thanks for taking so much of our feedback, questions, and spirit into the new site. That may come across as narcissistic, but was I the only one who noticed that?
Thank you Patrick. Sorry you've been dealing with so much of your own health stuff. My thoughts are with you!

My GF doesn't like the gold hardware anyway, so..... If I were to switch out the current gold bridge for the new aluminum black one, how much would I shave off?? Figuring I'll add ultralight tuners as well.

PM me and I'll send some high res pics if you're interested. EMG DC40s and BQC professionally installed by me, I'm an electronics tech by trade, but you don't need to be to install an all EMG system these days.
It'll be up in the classifieds later tonight.

| | Registered User | | | | | Hey folks,
I have two EMG BQC preamps available. Slightly (and only slightly) used by me. Professionally installed and uninstalled, all knobs and hardware included. No documentation or original packaging, but the former is easy to get from the EMG site. These are very recent (3-4 month old) models. Only used in two Spector ELXs until I had a chance and the $ to stick the US 18v in both (I still have the 5, Jamie F has the 4). So these are sitting around, needing homes. As many on here will attest, they are one of the most fantastic, dead quiet, and extraordinarily flexible preamps on the planet as well as being easy to install. If you are picky about where your mids are (fully sweepable mid-range frequency selection and cut and boost for the one you choose) and enjoy being able to select your treble frequency as well (dip switches on the circuit board)... this preamp has features like no other. They sound great in Spectors. Usually, they're $120. Mine are $65 including USPS Priority Mail shipping.
PM me or if you already know me, call or text. Gonna stick them on the classifieds at the end of this weekend, so please get in touch!

And as aluminum can add some extra to your high end, you may need to back off on your treble a bit. Some guys find this necessary, others don't notice.
Not sure if the Hipshot Ultralites are all that much of a weight saver over the Schallers. Never had a chance to A/B them. Plus I don't think the sizes equal out (help Sam!) and you may not only have to widen the tuner holes, but also drill different mounting scres into your headstock. You may end up with a lot of work ahead of you on your headstock and a lot of left over holes... The bridge will drop right in and as a plus you can order the black straight from Spector with the new model's intonation screws, which rock.
PM Tracebassplayer with a pic and you get a #! Quote:
