Lately, I am digging doing gigs with my Spector Forte 5 (usually sets 1 and 3) and My MTD 535 for set 2. Fairly different tonal ranges on these basses and I use the Spector for harder tunes and (maybe) surprisingly, for oldies and Eagles-type stuff. The dual H Spector can really nail a Precision if EQed right. |

I'm very proud to be the owner and I'm very happy to share its beauty with people. I think Stuart and crew created a masterpiece. One of many they've created this year and in years past.
Thanks again for you positive post. I really appreciate it!

I would much rather talk to you on the phone and work out our differences and a massive communication failure that I'm sure is probably my fault. I don't want to take any more of this out on the group or take their time away.
If it's okay with you, I'll give you a call tomorrow and hopefully we can come to a resolution and put this to bed. I think that neither of us has the entire story on each others perspectives or behavior and I personally would very much like a chance to explain myself, have a chance to listen to you and hopefully come to an agreement that allows us to continue on with our friendship.
I do apologize if what I said in my most recent post bothered you and I also apologize for being sarcastic and short in my writing, which was not constructive or encouraging of a reasonable response.
As the person who got me involved with this thread to begin with, I have a great deal of respect and affection for you, and I really want to work out our differences, but not on a public forum, if that's okay with you.
Please let me know if it's okay to give you a call and when the best day and time would be. You can just PM me or text me.
I'm sorry that I have dragged this out to the point that it's hampering the normal flow of the thread. But I really would like to settle this off of the boards and over the phone. I think once we hear each others perspectives, it may help to bring this to a close. The only thing that has puzzled me from the beginning is why you didn't tell me (phone or PM) that you were upset with me and the perception I was communicating by selling off the basses I got paid for by my contractor via his Amazon account. I would like a chance to clear the air and explain things. I certainly never intended to make you mad or try to intentionally be a detriment to Spector Basses.
Please let me know as I would very much value being able to have a conversation with you about this.
-Steve

-Steve | No worries Steve. I'd be glad to talk with you. But unfortunately it can't be tomorrow.
I have my next back procedure early in the AM.
I'm on my way to bed. No food/drink after 11pm (18 minutes ago). And I have to be at the hospital really early.
I'll try to catch up with you this weekend.
And all I've wanted was for this forum to move forward in a positive and productive manner. So let's get back to squawking about awesome Spectors please.

Thanks for being willing to talk it out with me. I will wait to hear from you over the weekend, and I promise you that I am not full of bile or rage, just a desire to reconnect with you, and come to an understanding of where we were both coming from, because I think that's where the big miscommunication happened.
I'm sending you my best still as I know how much it sucks and how much you don't want to be there, but best of luck with it and I will look forward to hearing from you over the weekend. If I haven't heard from you by Sunday night (early evening) I'll give you a ring.

| | Hey Ho, lets go! Endorsing Artist: Spector Basses Spector Strings | | Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Washington DC,Silver Spring,MD | | | Spector club I have met some exceptional people as a result of playing Spector basses. People that I call friend. I recently had an issue that required some emergency soldering. My soldering skills are non existent. To the rescue came a friend that I met as a direct result of playing Spector basses and being here, on this forum. That same friend was responsible for my acquiring my Forte-4 at a fraction of the normal price. This friend could have taken advantage of the trust that we had built up here. He could have bought it himself and sold it to me for more and made a profit. He did not do this. Would not do this. I would not do it to him either. Making money is a wonderful thing. Be transparent about it. This was a great place to indulge our passion for these basses. My not being here is not going to change any of the wonderful relations that I made. I wish you guys all the best in your musical endeavors.
I know I've posted this picture before. Next to me is the friend that I referred to in what I just wrote about. I am holding my Spector Forte-4. When this bass came up for sale, Sam reached out to me at 2AM because he wanted me to have a real chance at being able to buy it. No ulterior motive. Just one Spector player helping another. There are plenty of other people here that I can name, they know who they are. Good people that share their knowledge and experience. Simply because they love music and Spector basses. |

Simply because they love music and Spector basses. | About 3 hours ago I sat down to write a novel about what went down in this Spector Club over the past 10 days. I was just about to post it, but I see that there has been some positive posts since then. So I am going to hold my post because it will just re-aggravate any positive vibes and energy that have returned.
As Mr.Bassie720 just posted. He is right on, this is what this forum is all about.
I come to this club because I wanted a Spector since I was 14 and I now live, breathe and bleed Spector and I try to help and share this love with others.
Since I spent 3 hours, I will just summarize and say, just a few things instead and do it with some humor.
1st, JPS is a gentleman and I support his comments 98%. He made 2 small mistakes, thus the 98%. But trust me, he had legit reasons for the comments so lets put them behind us now.
I was starting out my “novel post” by saying that I have been told by a few members of this forum that besides being the Spector Pimp I am viewed as the Spector forum Godfather.
Thus, my avatar, isn’t my Rose pretty? Also fitting, that the Godfather is standing next to the bassist for the THE MOB NYHC in the photo above
As the Spector forum Godfather, I demand this club returns to peace and once again and becomes the joyful sharing of Spector lovers from all over the world.
Please don’t make this go any further or my novel will be posted and it wont be pretty like the Rose in my avatar.

I came to this club because of the sense of brotherhood and wealth of friendship and information sharing. I too would love to see it return to that state. Thank you Sam for not adding to the fray with your novel. Your request for the club to return to its status quo is definitely honored and appreciated by this guy.....me!
