This with some Nordstrand pickups would be so freaking cool.

Probably a good thing as it would break my back anyway! | Here's something that won't help, then.

I am just starting to consider possibly adding a Forte 5X to the stable and Bass Central is now selling Forte 5/5x basses for $3149 which is considerably higher than the $2775 from a few weeks ago.
MF still as the 5 listed for $2775.

MF still as the 5 listed for $2775. | Hmmm that's weird. Spector price list on the official site still lists the 5 and 5x for retail 3699. The Bass Central site says retail 4199. Only thing that could add 500 to it would be the US 9v preamp, but the BC listings don't say that is included. The retail on the 4 string models looks like it's been raised 400 across the board.
I hope we get a little warning if a price hike is coming, because I will definitely get at least one deposit in then.
EDIT: Seems like the list prices are up on the other US models too besides the Fortes. Me no likey. Hopefully Patrick or someone else can shed some insight.

A Forte 5X is hard to find used and $3150 is super pricy for me. Lots of great basses available in that price range (incl. used USA NS Spectors).
Forte basses are amazing IMO and a used NS shaped Forte can still be found for under $2000 used. Great value.

And Donny is correct, it not just Spector. This seems to be across the board with the majority of companies.
I assume Basscentral must have gotten the increase list and the prices got calculated.
Coming from the consumer side, I guess you could ask the retailer if they can sell a New old stock bass at the older price if they had it in stock before the price increase. But that is something the Mananger/Owner will have decide.
In April 2011, I got my Euro 4LX from Basscentral for the "Old stock" 2010 price since they had it in stock from the year prior.
P.S.
Bunk, Great collection of Spectors.

He said that things increased this last year, but he kept his prices the same but had to increase him this year. I'm assuming materials have gone up again.

So on a few builds he started integrating the Double-S back in, basically because all of the templates to cut the Double-S headstock logos and the templates to make the Double-S space in the headstock wood had been lost.
I found those machines a few months ago. Or I should say the person that took them when Kramer failed told me they have them.
But back then Stuart was having to go back to the drawing board. So there are number 1997 models which are called "Transition Models" which feature the traditional Spector markings, but were completed before the official award to Stuart from the courts.
They are pretty cool to have. That guitar has the SSD body, the SSD neck/fingerboard/body joint, but the Spector markings.
In 1998 with the official relaunch of the Spector Brand, Stuart would retool these features, add abalone inlays, and the "Official" start of the Woodstock Era would begin.
The bass in question is in really good shape.
