Yeah, I'm also really digging the new TB app- it's really made keeping up with this thread easier!

I am sending Jaime the recording stuff because he does a music club with kids at the local high school, I think that is awesome and when I was looking to donate the stuff, I couldn't think of a better place for it to go or a better use for it, so once again, one of our club members being awesome!!

Email me, webadmin@spectorbass.com
And I'll hook you up.
Unfortunately I only got shots of it inside at Bass Central. I didn't have my lights to do a proper setup. But I was totally in love with the quilt and color of your bass and did snap some good photos of it.
Those are the photos I sent to Jimmy Eppard as a reference for the Blue Dream. And I sent him the one you shot of the body outdoors in the sun.
You've seriously got the best looking NS-4 I've ever seen.
And I love that it says "NS-2" on your headstock. That's not something that happens often.
I nominate Rich as having, "The most wicked looking mislabeled USA Spector"

I am a special Ed teacher at a local high school of about 1800 students. I am the advisor/sponsor of the musicians club in the school. We have about 60 members, all trying to become performers. Some are actually quite amazing.....from guitars, drums, cello, piano, singing....they will get good use out of the equipment, and I'm going to load it on a laptop of mine so they can experiment and use it to record the stuff they are working on. Two members that graduated last year opened for Fuel this year. Thank you Chris!

The only thing that I don't like so far is the search function- you can't search specific sub forums, you can only do the general search.
It's tapatalk powered FWIW, not sure how it compares to the tapatalk app though.

I'd love to hear it A/B'd with your "Blue Dream" - with both basses having similar EMG Jazz pups, I think it would really illustrate the sonic differences between the USA 9 & 18 volt preamps.

I am thinking of making a Spector inspired bass, 35 inch scale single cutaway. Would be pretty nice. |

I usually wait until the NAMM Show to look at what is being built to get the inspiration.
The Black Pearl was inspired by Todd Cooke's BEM NS-2 with the insane ultra-amber tube quilt and Evan Seinfeld's NS-2 with the black-transparent stain gloss body.
The Blue Dream was inspired by the punchy tone of Graham Maby's Kramer-Era NS-5 (USA 9v with dual J pups) and your NS-4, and Doug Wimbish's bass (I LOVE THAT NECK).
So who knows what this coming year will bring.
I was going to do a themed set of basses. I did "The Black Pearl" and next was going to be "The White Pearl". I wanted a White NS-2 with a transparent white stain so you could see the tube quilt.
Jimmy and Cue played with it and did some samples, but it never worked out to where Stuart or Jimmy was happy with the end result. So I scrapped the idea for the Blue Dream.
If I can revisit that idea with them, I'd still think that'd be a great stain option. A sort of white-washed tube quilt.
I have to tell you that Quintin Berry's new Signature Model has a WICKED looking finish. That Steel Burst is really sweet looking.
So perhaps an NS-4 in that color with dual J pups and the USA 18v. I'm always looking to do something different.
That would be pretty sweet in my opinion.
