Is this hard? Could I do it myself, with a replacement rod?

I've had to muscle more than a few tight truss rod nuts and haven't broken one yet (fingers crossed).

Rare to see TBers post saying "my M9 is running perfectly" We tend to bitch a lot when things don't work great and make sure everyone knows about it.

Also, if you're happy with your tone, you can always pick up another GK 1001 (fairly cheap and always available) and slave it. Or just get the big daddy 2001 and be done.

After having a NS4 neck thru some years back, I always thought that my perfect spector would be a bolt-on...and I was totally right. Don't be put off by buying a Spector bolt-on, especially these awesome US made ones! | Awesome new Spector! I must agree about the USA bolt-on basses. I was only into the Neckthru Spector until I received my Coda 5XL DLX. Wow...I hate eating crow! Lol This Coda 5LX goes against everything i used to believe about BO's. I definitely am thinking about possibly buying another USA bolt-on. Though there will be a Kramer era NS-2 in my near future.

Bass wise, New Bass Day! My Coda got here from Beaver at Bass Central, holy crap, could not be more impressed with it. More to follow later, I'm beat, have to get to bed, just wanted to post picture of the body and with its NS-2 brother.
I don't think I have ever had 2 basses I am more in love and impressed with, and 2 basses so different from each other that I am so happy with.
More later-best-Loe | WOWZERS!!!! That Coda 4 Deluxe looks absolutely stunning Chris!!! I didn't realize you were getting a Deluxe model. The Ultra-Amber is amazing looking! Congratulations!!!

Just wondering Mad, what made you get rid of the Coda and what replaced it? Good to have you back here by the way man! Maybe my "favorite non current Spector owning club member award" | That's actually the award I was going to nominate myself for.
Although, there are a couple of things i'm currently looking at.
Yes, I was VERY excited. That bass is still one of the more expensive (when bought new) basses that I've owned and it was amazing. There was something magical about that neck. It was pretty huge, but it seemed so right. I miss that neck.
Why I got rid of it: I honestly didn't care for the OBP2 preamp. I don't like many preamps but of the ones I do like, they are more usable than the Aggie to me. The Aggie has a lot of lows and a lot of glassy highs. I like a pre to have a more usable tone pallete. This is no offense to anyone that likes them, I just like other things better. With that being said, I also did not like the bridge at all. Vintage bent metal design and there was 0 after market replacements for it, so I would've had to redrill the bass. I also didn't care for the unpainted headstock. Also, I strongly prefer a 35 inch scale.
There were just several things I wanted to change and I didn't feel it was worth it to go through with all of it.
If the bass would've had a matching headstock or a maple fretboard I probably would've swapped electronics and the bridge and called it a day. But because it didn't have that and wasn't a 35 inch scale, I decided to let it go.
Good B strings can be found on a 34 but I strongly prefer a 35.
Thanks for the love, bro! I hope treatment is going well for you!
