I was going to just make one "super build" but I kept going back and forth on what finish and options, so I just decided to go for it and get separate builds.

First one is a pretty standard NS-6XL. Black cherry gloss, stock 45DC's and 18v. Originally thought about ebony on this, but after some discussion here and with PJ I decided to stick with the pau ferro. This one is going to have a "thin" neck option so hopefully it will play similarly to the Webster.

The other is an NS-5XL. I really came close to going for a 35" scale NS-2 for BEAD tuning, but even when I'm not using the G string a lot, it feels better when it's there. Since I have the used blue NS-5XL with DC's and 18v, I decide to try to make this one as close to an NS-2 in sound as possible. So it's going to have a US 9v and the 40P5 and 40J pickups. I can always drop DC's in later to experiment. Here's the fun part: ultraviolet high gloss with the BEM board. I'm not too worried about the difference in tone between a pau ferro and BEM board so I went with the BEM because it's just too sexy not to have one.

Depending on how much I can make from selling the Euros I'll be moving in the summer and some other stuff I have to sell (non-music related), I *may* try to get another build in towards the end of the year. I'm thinking a fretless with your NAMM green glossed with an ebony board. Oh mama....

EDIT: Oh and before anyone asks - gold hardware.
That's sounds awesome Bunk! Can't wait to see it finished!

Ya you would think the dealer could press charges, but then again if they refunded maybe they are SOL and this is what happens now.
I think, sadly, you are right on this.

That sucks on the NS-4 fraud. I assume the dealer know the serial # so it could at least help to get that in the hands of the Spector Squad. Of course that could be undone by a refinish, but someone would have to do a pretty good job of faking that signature with a different serial.

I hate it when people try to rip off other people (or even other businesses). We all end up paying in the long run. I'm in the Cincinnati area and will gladly visit all the music stores in the tri-state area (some of which have been known to accept hot merchandise) to see what their Spector inventory looks like if needed. PM me with any specifics on the bass if you think I can help.

It would seem that someone purchased an NS-4 from a Spector Dealer here in the USA and then returned it for a refund.

But they didn't return it. They returned a Euro model in its place. The dealer recognized that their NS-4 hadn't been returned and they notified Spector immediately.
This is what I mean by how a handful of people can screw it up for everyone else.
We wonder why there are so many laws and regulations that are being tightened more and more with every passing week. A person can't even fart without violating some kind of law nowadays....
This is a disgrace not only to a great company like Spector, but to the integrity of this club and it's people, and musicians in general.

Which one of you guys is going to gobble this up?

FS: Spector Euro 4 (pre-LX) with Aguilar Preamp

Guy wants a local sale in the NJ area - I think we have a man there.

This reminds me of an $850 Euro5LX I saw on eBay 2 days ago. The auction closed before I could secure the funds to buy it.

Unfortunately, this man is flat broke though In a few weeks, that will be different since I will hopefully be getting my tax return but it figures, the timing isn't good right now.

Yeah it was a haul. I had to get a ride out there.... It was a bad health week so I couldn't hack the drive. But it turned into something cool, so it was worth it.

And your Coda is really amazing, BTW. I'm excited to see the show pieces from NAMM in a few weeks (or whenever the pics make their way here). How cool is the pro line Coda! That's gonna get overwhelmingly pre-ordered I'd bet. Do you still miss the Forte, or are you happier with the Coda? I know it's a little apples and oranges, but I'm just curious what you think.

Nice. That's a great price on that. Love that color as well. Quite a few of the Euro4s, including the one that was my gateway Spector (drug), were blue.

I'm guessing that the OBP-1 is running at 9v. Once I get the 18v mod set up for my Forte, I'll have to try that on the Euro too. The earliest models were equipped with the aggie pre's. A full report to follow.

Always fun to see when people have such a great grasp of reality.

Speaking of which. When I have a little more time, I want to let everyone know about a stolen USA NS-4 situation and warn everyone to be on the lookout for it.
It always sickens me to hear of things like this. There's a special corner in hell for d-bags like this guy...

My Spector sounds killer in drop A, and I've gotten it down to G without a new setup. Sounds thunderous!
