Stay positive and kick its miserable C ass.
I've been to that Chicago Music Exchange and Bass Club Chicago and they both have some great basses. Which one were you at? If it's Bass Club, I think I've played the buckeye you are talking about --- its a nice one!!! They had it on a rack as I walked in the door. First bass I saw - for real! Nice way to greet the new customers.

I can't honestly discern a huge difference in sound between the maple & rosewood, but the feel is different. I prefer the feel of rosewood, but the look of maple.

Do I hang it on the wall or play the piss out of it.

More looking for fretless vs fretted comparisons as the only fretless I've played was my Stingray 5 lined fretless but the tone wasnt for me. That was also the first stingray 5 I've played so I don't know if the problem was the stingray itself (not a Spector) or the neck/preamp in the bass. It had a pau ferro board if that makes a difference. |

This is the kind of bass that you stare at for a while, before you pick it up to play. Congratulations on ,another, very special instrument. |
