After overcoming a struggle with the seller and USPS, I finally retrieved my B3K today.
I plugged it in this evening and A/B'd it with my Alex Webster and NS4CR.
WOW!!!!!!!
Spector-B3K-Mesa Carbine M6 is my new favorite sound combination!
The ability to "dial down" the distortion and overdrive to give the "edge" sound is something I really missed since I sold my ADA MB-1. I have yet to find such a sound on my Zoom B3.
The B3K allows me to do this, and it sounds spectacular. Plus, if I were playing live, and needed a quick adjustment to go from thin to thick (or vice-versa), it's pretty much the twist of a knob - no biggie.
Well worth the $$$ - everyone should have one of those things!

Cool! That must sound killer with the Carbine. You're right, just the slight OD to give it some edge is great - that's primarily what I use it for. But tonight I decided to practice the album with a harsher distortion on - very cool. Cuts deep but still a lot of meat.

You can't buy yourself a new dolly and not have some accessories for it.

Has anyone A/Bed the B3K/B7K with the SansAmp Bass Driver?

Just curious as I rarely used overdrive pedals in the past but the BDDI I just picked up sounds great. Is the Darkglass that much better???

Forte 5 -> BDDI -> Monique -> Bergantino cabs = killer IMO

I swear they'll put anyone's picture on the web these days:

I can't say how thankful I am to Patrick for making this happen. Really - it took me over 20 years to finally own my dream brand of bass, and now I can't fathom not playing them.

I wish my pic was as cool as Omer's - that is such a great shot. We didn't get any pics from the last show I played with the Webster. But hey I get to be under Red Jane.

And yeah, I know I could use some sun!

Here's a little challenge - first person to post what band and album my shirt is from gets a free copy of our album if they want it. The writing isn't big enough to see so you'll have to recognize the art.

I have owned countless od and distortion pedals. I have just about tried them all. Some sounded good with passive, Fender style basses but then stunk it up with the EMG equipped Spectors. However, the B3K is IT! It really sounds great with the Spector. As the guys said, you can perfectly dial in just the grit or take it into outer space. For me, Spector > B3K > Mesa Walkabout Head is just killer. It really gives me the closest thing to an all tube monster without lugging the all tube monster around!

I have no idea on the shirt, but that is awesome. Congrats!!!! After the sad news on Chris, it is nice to have some little positives pop up.

That said, I'm looking forward to putting a aguilar OBP 2 in my red NS2a. When that happens, I'll have a NS2a with a HAZ, one with a Tonepump, and one with the OBP 2.

I have a OBP 3 going in my modulus tomorrow! I also have a Kawai bass that might get a Aguilar pre. So, I may be a Aguilar expert in a few weeks.
Damn, Damn, Damn. I'm dying to put the US9V in my Euro 435LX. This is a bummer.

In other news, I am going to totally revamp my Euro 4LX (the refin sunburst) and ordered a set of Aguilar PJ pickups and the Aguilar 2 band preamp for it. Excited to do some experimenting and see how it turns out.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I was very hesitant to post stuff even today because I didn't want it to come off like we're just moving on. I was actually cleaning out my PM box today and found a PM from Chris from last April asking me about a Bongo of all things. Made me sad to see that but it's nice to have something like that as a reminder.

I am pretty positive that Chris would be thrilled to hear the album preview and see you posted on the Spector site!

Just shows the kind of guy he was.

Sorry, these are the best photos I could take on a rainy day like today.

Here is the truss rod cover

How cool is this?

I want to thank my friends at Bass Central for putting Chris's memorial ribbon on the front page of their site and linking it to the page for Chris on SpectorCentral.

This made my day.

Dude! You're an awesome member here... you've bought a bass from me... and you totally rock... and you've got more Spectors than I do!

You HAD to be a Spotlight Artist!

I'm just really proud and happy that more and more of you guys here, you, Omer, Donny... you're not only making great music and living your dream. But you're becoming Spector Artists and showing support for my friends Stuart and PJ.

It's a win-win-win-win in my book.

So rock on.
