Hi guys!

New to talkbass, mainly joined because of this club!
Been using as Spector Rebop as my main bass for over two years, love it and just ordered new pickups and pre!

Can I get a number ? Who should I ask ?

Thank you all, hoping to be part of this great club soon!

That's a great shot! You should send that to PJ and Stuart, really.
Take Care,

great shot Donnie! my case was the case that held the forte five that I traded to Baird(Brent) so I think it was a newer one. I shoved some washcloths in there to hold I steady in shipping. odd!!!

I need to go for a green one myself. Probably will be a fretless with ebony and possibly black hardware.
I've been thinking about the maple neck with black inlays, and gold hardware, I'm really loving the way the gold looks on my Euro 5LX. I actually bought some gold nobs locally and installed them, they look really good compared to the old stock nobs considering it was only like a $25 upgrade.

Have you heard a fretless Spector 5 before? I had a fretless stingray 5 a while back and found that it just wasnt for me. I got used to the fretless pretty quickly but it was the first stingray I've ever owned so I'm not sure if I wasn't into the stingray (nice basses, just not a Spector) or if it was actually the fretless neck that I didn't like the tone of.

Can you still get the aggressive grindy tone out of a fretless Spector with the right pre in the bass?

What strings do you normally use since you kill them so fast? I just got a set of those D'Addario EXP coated strings for my NS-4 and really like them so far. Since they are coated, they are supposed to last longer and I like that they have higher tension as well.

Can't go wrong with the maple. I almost ordered my NS-5XL with the black pearl inlays but I wasn't sure they suited the ultraviolet finish.

I have not heard a fretless Spector in person but I have to imagine I will like it a lot more than my Carvin fretless which is not bad at all. I don't know if I'd want so much grind from it though.

Been a lot of different ones. XL's, Fat Beams, CK's, Slinkys, you name it. Seems like the ProSteels weren't as bad for me. It's just super frustrating because I wash my hands before playing and wipe the strings between songs and it still happens - strings get dull sounding within hours.

When I was recording the DC tracks at home I was rotating three sets of strings through denatured alcohol so I could have a fresh sound for each track.
