Did you buy that beautiful amber SSD NS-4 from ilustre? If so, thank you - the temptation to jump on that one was torture!
Yes, I did. I had already tortured myself for over a week talking w/him and thinking about it and felt it was best just to do it, otherwise i would've driven myself crazy. I'm hoping very much this SSD has even more of the magic I find in my Euro...

Congrats - its gonna rock your world.

I have a blue Woodstock NS-4 with the same 18-volt USA circuit, and it delivers all of the magic that my Euros do, and then some....

I'm pretty sure JPS, BoomBoom, myself and several others agree - blue Spectors rock.

I love this image - shows the true artistry of Spector. Beautiful bass!

There is a certain subtlety with the Fortes that I just love. It's 99% of the bass that I've always been looking for. My gut says that adding a US9V pre would give me that elusive extra 1%. But if I'm meant to /suffer/ along with the aggie OBP-2, well, so be it. haha.

I'm hoping to get a couple of decent live shots of it in action tomorrow night in front of crowd that's bigger than my dog and occasionally my wife/kids.

Btw, Omer, that spalt is seriously classy. I love the before/after pics. (Sam, yours too).

they use a technique that involves a coat of black dye that they apply and then sand off. the dark dye sits in the "short grain" in the figure of the wood and creates a 3D effect that really pops out when the color and clear coat are applied. PRS also uses this technique on their maple tops as does Modulus I think.

They are the best and very social. When you get one let me know I know a lady in IL that has them at good prices.
