Spector Legend classic 4 vs Sterling Ray34 Classic

So I'm thinking about picking up a new instrument after the holiday season and was wondering about people's opinions on these.

The Spector was at guitar center used for 450 in awesome condition but I went back to try it again and it was gone.

I play a lot of stoner and punk music but also fool around with more melodic and slap/tapping stuff when I'm not playing with the band. I'd imagine the spector would deliver better cleans and a brighter attack but with the musicman giving a better rock sound? Any input is valueable.

I'd go for the Spector, particularly for rock. It's awesome. Not that the SBMM is shabby, mind you! Either way, you'll have a great bass, but the Spector edges it IMHO.

How do the spector legends compare with the higher end models like the rebop and euro? obviously there would be many differences considering they're made in korea. But does it still feel like you're getting the spector experience?

I own a Spector 4LX and a Euro Rebop. They are both nice basses but I find the active circuitry in the 4LX to be so hot that it causes "farting" through the speakers even at low volume. I have had a couple of Music Man Stingrays but never a Sterling. I like the Spectors much better.
