Squier 77 VM Jazz Truss rod wrench size?

When I bought mine it did not come with a truss rod wrench as the store lost it. Anyone know what size it is? google is no help and it's not on the Fender site.

Now, I might be mistaken, but I think just about all guitars and basses use the same size allen wrench for truss rod adjustment. Why don't you just go to the hardware store and get one of those assorted sets? The set I got at Home Depot only cost something like eight or nine bucks.

EDIT: I'm just gonna say that I probably am mistaken on the issue of all truss rods using a universal size, but my second statement still stands, just get a set of allen wrenches at your local hardware store, it'll be good to get different sizes for bridge and saddle adjustments too, I gather that most guitar manufacturers sell their instruments with crappy allen wrenches anyway, might as well get a good set that will last longer.

Whatever it is, it's metric.

I just don't want to strip it with the wrong size.

I would suspect 4mm ... I think that is what the Squier Standards, and the VM's use (Indonesian) ... I think the CV's use the 5mm (China)

.. the long red T-handle that is used for Fenders is 3/16" I believe ...

.. if it not a nice, solid, tight fit, whatever you get, do not use it as they round out easily

4mm on my VM. It would stand to reason that they'd be the same across the entire line.
