Squier Classic Vibe 60's Precision

I've had one of these badboys on layaway in the local music store for a few months now and thanks to the taxman being generous and giving me my money back, I'm finally going to be able to buy it. I've played it a few times and I like the feel so I definitely will be getting it and nothing else for now (I get the feeling there's a Kramer Striker bass on the horizon though).

What I would like to know though is what kind of pickguards fit the Classic Vibe? I'm not fond of the tort, so I might replace it with black, unless it's a big hassle, in which case I'll keep the tort. And is there any opinions on the hardware/pickups? I've only played it for about half an hour so far in the shop so I haven't got a full opinion on the tuners, pickups, etc. The bridge seems good though.

I primarily play hard rock and metal. Would the stock pickups do well for that? I can always order a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds for it (I've had them before and I do like them, but if they're not fully needed then I won't bother).

I actually cannot wait to have this bass in my possession at last, and I'll be sure to make an NBD thread when I do get it (why must banks be closed on Saturdays?).

An all parts pick guard probably fits pretty good. Always have for me.
