... and it is a damn good bass (quartersawn maple for the neck? On an Asian-made instrument? That comes staight out of the factory? For 400-ish €? Check!)

I still need to get around owning the bridge cover (The PU cover would get in the way of where I play).
Also, a friend of mine has the same mixer that's in the background of the 2nd photo.

PS: Sub'd

What bridge cover are you guys using on the CV 50's P? I thought I heard the Fender '51 P style ones won't fit.
I have the pickup cover - for me it makes a better thumb rest than the pickup.

Pic with my VM 70's Jazz, before I installed the pup cover on the CV.

I think mine has a regular '51 cover on it, and it fits (with a tiny bit of force) perfectly

Thanks, maybe I was thinking of someone who had a different bridge.

Still likin those pic's bassagent, thats a reminder for me to source some PU covers for my CV50's. You got any foam on under there or just for visual appeal?

Thanks! I keep 'em there just for visual purposes. I use the pickup cover to rest my thumb on, though. I took off the bridge cover yesterday because I want to be able to play palm muted on this bass.

I just picked up one of these for just over $200. Pine body, vintage yellow finish. It had some dings on the back.

It had everything I like--extremely light but balances well, small frets, great single coil p sound. I took it home and did a little work to the nut, and added some lightweight tuners I had in a drawer. Took the gloss off the neck, removed the pick guard and the tug bar.

A really great bass with a distinctive sound

Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision with Chromes -- priceless.
See (or better: hear) the second half of my little YouTube demo for my Tecamp rig. First half doesn't sound too shabby, either (the tone, not my playing), but that's a different club.
Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF5e...e_gdata_player

Just scored a CV 60s Jazz and i´m surprised how good this "cheapo" is, BUT what are my options to optimize the sound a few percent. How did YOU modify your CV jazz? Pickup replacement? BadAssII bridge? Nut made of bone? What else?

Thanks for inspiration
