That's what I learned to play onn twenty years ago. Meh. For that price it'd be okay, but not the best thing Squier's ever done. I'm not the best one to describe the sound since it's been so long, but I had neck stability issues, crappy fret job, etc. Make sure you can inspect it.
The necks are a nice chunk of solid maple with a heavy gloss, the necks are raved about. The bodies are just plywood. I kept the neck on one and put it on a nice body and sold the original body off, I have a 100% original squier II stratocaster.
