And to start off, to be a member, you need to currently own a Squier and just put "Squier Owners Club" in your signature. We don't use numbers, they are for lesser clubs....

Here's my Squier Affinity P-Bass, it's terrible to some, but just right for me, I definately do see myself modding this baby out in due time though, it'll be great I know it.
The thing that makes this beast such a beaut is that it's blessed by...
To those who can't understand the signature, it's the one and only Billy Sheehan!

- Seymour Duncan MM pickup
- 3-way switch (series-single coil-parallel)
- Gotoh bridge
It's a great bass for the money and the mods made it a bit different than my other basses. |

Hey, can you tell me how you got that humbucker into the bridge position? I'm thinking about eventually doing something similar to this but don't want to shell out a whole lot of cash for a bass like mine. |

Took her over to a pals house w/ a nice bass amp. New Fender Rumble 300 watt (I think?). Had a great practice/jam session. The bass played great, and I really felt strong and confident. I couldn't believe how good this bass sounded! He also had a peddle; which I used liberally!
All in all, I had the first real jam session of my bass career. I've jammed before, but never felt like I was contributing the way I wanted as a bass player. To sum it up, the times before I walked away thinking, "man... I REALLY have to practice more..."; last night I walked away thinking, "man... that practice REALLY paid off...".
I'm both motivated and humbled by the task ahead of me.
I will post some pics of this since it's my first post to TB and Squire Bass Club!

Precision. It was ordered for a 2008 American Precision and it fit mine without a problem.

I'd like a 60's CV P, a 60's CV J, and a VM Fretless J....not necessarily in that order... |

and an Affinity J 5 with quarter pounders and ultra light tuners.
But no pics so I guess it doesn't count yet... :/ |

The Bronco has a pretty good little neck on it, not quite as nice as old Musicmasters but almost.
I had several Musicmasters back in the day (like, in the 70's when they were popular) but decided that I missed a short scale and figure I can get the Bronco pretty close.
The pickup in the bronco just sounds horrid, but there are several that are easy to get to replace it. The guitar itself plays very well and feels good to play. The tuners are ok but the two saddle bridge has to go. I figure might as well put good pots in there with the new pickup. I've started buying the parts to do the mods, but have not decided on the right pickup yet.
So I plan this summer to do the work on the Bronco, or rather, have it done at an Austin shop.
I also have a Squier '51 that cost $99 and rocks. One of my guitar friends takes one out for his spare when he is gigging in funky bars, but he scrapped the decal off of the headstock

The scratchplate isn't standard, it's got holes for a pickup cover, and I don't think the knobs are either. I've spent a few hours making it playable (action was sky-high, only a neck shim solved that), and it sounds half decent with a new set of strings, if a little thin. Am going to see how it goes at band practice tomorrow before I decide whether a new pickup is in order. It's also going to be sent away for a bit of work next week, nearly every fret wire from 13 onwards is wonky, but since I don't use that end of the fretboard much, it's not a massive deal. It came with the sticker (which is staying) and the big chip out of the bottom (which adds character). |
