Squier VM Jaguar HB Pickup Replacement

Hey Tb, Ive got a Squier VM Jaguar Special HB and I was wondering what kind of pickup you could recommend as an easy replacement. It has kind of a P bass thump and I'd like it to have more of a Thunderbird tone. Any Suggestions?

I don't mean to tell you what your bass sounds like. But I don't get the P bass thump from that style pickup in that location. When I was trying one out at GC it was closer to a solo'd jazz bridge pup or even a touch a mm.

I just don't think your gonna get what your looking for with only that bridge pup. BUT if you were, I think A-Step-Towards has it right...a mud-bucker would probably be your best bet. Sorry this wasn't more helpful.

I'm planning on picking up one of these. I'll change the bridge (Gotoh 201) and most likely the pickup (Basslines) and see how that goes.

Filling that route is going to be difficult. A mudbucker is too small, a double J will require routing. An MM is not wide enough.
Maybe Seymour Duncan or Nordstrand or Bartolini will have something that fits?
