Squire P/J Precision?

Did Squier ever make a P/J Precision with matching headstock? If so, tell me about that. When was it made, color options, etc.?

The Squier Pro-Tone (1997-1998)has a matching headstock.
As do certain colors of the Standard Precision Special, theses are really nice P/J's that come and go over the years.

You mean something like this?

It's a 2008-ish Squier Standard Precision Bass Special. Around the same time they made a P-Bass Special Black and Chrome Edition. The body and headstock were metallic black with a mirrored chrome pickguard. All the other P-Bass Specials around that time had a natural finish to the headstocks.

In general, Squiers seems to have more matching and/or painted headstocks than Fenders. I guess they're allowed to go a little more "outside the box" with cosmetic touches.

After being discontinued after 2008, Squier has started producing Specials again, only under the new name "Precision PJ". Unfortunately, they don't have matching headstocks. Still, I am curious about them.

Yep - as mentioned above, the P Special. Jazz neck, PJ pickups - great bass. I have the black/mirror version.

Holy **** that's gorgeous!!! I've never seen one of those before, and maybe that's a good thing, because if I had I'm not sure I could resist buying it up!

I certainly couldn't! It was the model that pushed me into getting my first bass. Sadly, they'd been discontinued, so my first ended up being another rockin' matching body/headstock bass…a Fender Aerodyne. But I never gave up searching for the pewter P-Bass Special. Six months later…violá! And now I have "My Sexy Beast".
