Is this a standard or a special american P bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
hi, guitar store in town are selling this atm for abt €1000. They say it's a standard but I'm not too sure. It's a string-through body affair, but the bridge looks like a standard/non-high mass. Also, the tone knob is like i've not seen before on a P - anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

It's a pre-2008 American Series (before they were called American Standards). How much $$?

As said on the previous post, its a pre 08 Pbass with the series/parallel S1 switch!

IMO it is a bit overpriced, new ones go for around 1200€ and have all the post 08 bonuses

I think that personally i would rather spend a bit more and get a post 08 one!

On the other hand, if you like this one and can get a better deal on it it can be a great bass to!

If Euros are roughly equivalent to USD, I'd offer 800 and maybe go to 900 if you really are in love with it, otherwise let it slide and buy a current model. The S1 switch is widely regarded as completely useless on a P bass, and if anything a detriment as it is something that may break at some point. That's why Fender canned the concept.
