Starfield Bass

My friends dad recently passed away and he inherited a 1950's gibson melody maker, and a 1977 starfield jazz bass. hes a musician and has no plans of selling it, i have a link that has a bass that looks exactly the same as it, down to the last screwhole, we have no info on it and would appreciate any information possible. Starfield was a marque produced from the '70s into the '90s by Hoshino, the parent company of Ibanez. Shared production lines at the Fujigen plant meant quality was similar - good to great. Some later Starfields were even assembled and finished at the Ibanez custom shop in L.A.

thanks man, do you have any knowledge of what the body wood is made of? i know its a maple neck

It looks like a 70s Ibanez with a different headstock badge. Cdef seems to be right on the money though!

I had a 70s Ibanez P-bass and it was made out of plywood. No idea what yours is made out of though.

Unfortunately we're not supposed to give out values here (its a privilege for supporting members) but if you look up comparative prices on mid70s Ibanez basses you'll get an idea of what its worth.
