Ok, so I've heard many reggae bass players used a steinberger, and i was wondering if the strings that came with the steinberger were flats or only rounds?

I'm pretty sure the steinbergers shipped with rounds, but flats are available. I have a few sets of labella's here. I got them from juststrings.com, I think.

Yeah, but I meant back then, in the late 70's/early 80's

Probably just dead rounds. I played a Berger for years. Never saw flats but didn't look for them either. Great basses.

I think they shipped with LaBella rounds.

I have big LaBella flats on my L2, sounds huge and clear, tons of sustain.
