Steinberger Synapse strap button/strap arm, questions

Sign in to disble this ad
Might do some mods to my Steinberger Synapse.

Thinking about moving/changing the back strap button location from the inside area to the outer edge of the bottom of the bass and removing the strap arm and putting a strap button in its place.

Anyone done this to a Steinberger, and if so, what were the results ?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Do you think removing the strap arm and putting a button in its place would change the balance?

Im not sure, thats why Im asking.

I did see an "artist" picture on the Steinberger website in which the artist was holding his Synapse and the strap arm was removed and replaced with a strap button.

This will radically shift your bass so that the first frets are farther out. This is the reason the originals had that weird attachment on the back. It will also most likely also make the bass more neck heavy.
