Sterling basses on tall bassists

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all, I've recently aquired a sweet little 08 sterling 4 sequoia gold bass, but I'm having a little trouble adjusting to the 'size' factor. I used to own a stingray and being a tall guy (bout 6'2) I was fine with the body size, even though I always thought the sterling necks were way nicer. An opportunity came up and so I ended up with this sterling, which is verrrrry nice to play and to listen to, but it's the size that gets me. Is this just me being silly, or do any other sterling owners have this issue, esp if yer tall?

Plays good. Feels good. Sounds good. Doesn't look right. 3 out of 4 ain't bad.

^ What he said. I'm short and love the Sterlings! Sling it low if your arms are as long as your legs!

I'm 6'4" and prefer smaller body instruments, the Sterling is just fine for me.

Imagine my surprise when my 250lb frame all but swallowed an SG after watching Angus Young drag one around on stage for 2 decades. It gave me a complex, but don't sweat it. At least its not a Steinberger!
