Sterling SB14 pickup question

Hey guys, theres this Sterling sb14 thats only $295, but this pickup looks kind of messed up

Will it affect the sound?

Looks like someone "tweaked" the pickup cover. It probably doesn't affect anything.

Thats actually a good deal, if it bothers u,i think u can easily replace the cover iud its not glued on

If the pickup cover damage is the only issue with the bass, it will not affect the sound.

Looks exactly like someone took a Dremel to the cover so they would have a deeper and flatter place to put their thumb.
They did a sloppy job, but it's only a plastic cover and has absolutely nothing to do with the sound.

IF they did this mod with the pickup still installed in the bass (doubt it) OR IF they did it out of the bass but still inside the cover (doubt it) they would have to grind all the way through the plastic and then another short distance to hit the pickup itself, and then keep going into the coils far enough to break the windings--you would easily be able to see damage like that.
As long as it works when you test it, there is nothing to worry about.
