Question Stickbasses

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm not nearly as weathered as many of you others are out there as I've only been playing for about a year, but being a student allows for a ton of time to practice and experiment, and I have recently become interested in Tapping...I play an ESP B305 FM and when it comes to taps it does fine, but recently I've been checking out Chapman sticks and Warr Guitars, largely for ***** and giggles as I will NEVER have the money to buy one, but the designs still intrigued me, and made me want a bass optimized for tapping. So, heres my question; is there a cheaper alternative to these instruments? Some secret brand that makes relatively inexpensive tap basses? And if not then what would the difficulty and cost be of making a tap bass?

Tl;dr: How hard or expensive would it be to make a chapman stick style instrument?

I've heard the "Megatars" are cheaper, but I don't know how much.
Also, my 7-string bass was only 420 € (incl. shipping), so you may be interested in that. Have a look in eBay, seach "HeKe-Vertrieb", I'm REALLY happy with mine.

I am REALLY diggin the look of these things...I might just have to make one of these my next investment =D and as much as I love the 7 string I can barely play a 6. Wish I could play a 7 though...maybe one day. I can tap a 7 though but a non-stick style 7 would probably just look pretty on the wall lol =P But again thanks a ton these look fantastic and the price tag is really appealing xD
