Stingray 5 custom colours

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys
Just traded in a nice fretless Stingray 5 today, how ever in a fairly plane finish, white with white pickguard.
First thought was to get it resprayed in perhaps a nice metallic/pearl white with a black abalone pickguard but
then again why lot learn from others experiences.
So, show my your pimped Stingray 5's

Stay safe out there.

Thomas

Well since nobody bothered replying
I had to do it by myself.
Baltic Amber Pickguard from Pickguard heaven. Took a while to get it, but perfect finish and fit.´
Enjoy

With that fretboard, I didn't even notice the pick guard.

Looks great! What's a 'plane finish' though? It has like airplane paint?

Try 'plain'.

Give the guy a break, English is most likely a second language (to Danish).

Well the shear power in this bass sure sounds like a 747 takin' off so I guess it does have something to do with flying and planes!

The beautiful grain of the fretboard wasn't noticeable before, but is the result of making a grinding block with the same radius as the neck and carefully sanding away the marks left by years of playing with round wound strings. Know what you're doing and it's a 1/2 hour job including adjusting the neck so it's perfectly straight prior to sanding. It's so much easier to play now and all the tonal characteristics of a good fretless at hand.

Bass is for sale by the way. Check International.
