Stingray 5 H middle position hizz/fizz/noise

Just got my Stingray 5 H and I am hearing a lot of hizz or fizz on the middle position when plugged in straight into my audio interface. It's really annoying, this doesn't happen on the neck or bridge position.

Is this normal?

No.

All modes should be quiet. On recent models the is the Coil 1 + Coil 2 series + Filter mode. If there's a noise issue here and not with series and parallel, it makes me think the issue could be related to the preamp.

But, change the battery first! That should always be step #1 with Ball Basses.

I noticed that the noise only happens when I'm close to my laptop or some lights. ***!
