Stingray 5 HH vs Sterling 5 HH (both have roasted maple necks)

Hey guys, so I've finally narrowed the next bass I want to the two basses listed above. I'm just unsure which bass would be better for my taste, and what the exactly is the difference between these two basses. I play hard rock/metal for the most part, and I love low end, bassy, punchy and growly tones. Any ideas?

(Here are links to both basses)

Other than the smaller body size of the Sterling, I don't see much diff. The Sterling is supposedly lighter, but I have found both to be heavy.

The Stingray will have Alnico magnets and will be wired in parallel.

The Sterling will have Ceramic magnets and will be wired in series.

Both are great basses and can achieve the sound you're looking for with some on board EQ tweaks. The Sterling will be naturally more(read slightly)punchy due to the magnets and being wired in series.

Exactly. The series/ceramic will be more aggressive in the mids....

Both are great IMO.
