I am looking for a hardcase to use with my MM SR4 as I will be moving to Italy for educational purposes in September and I've found a real bargain, Fender Jazz Bass Hardcase (rectangular one).
I would like to know if a Musicman Stingray 4 would fit in a Fender Jazz Hardcase?
I don't have a chance to try before buying.
Thanks
This is the hardcase: |

Finding a MM hardcase is almost impossible here since they are already rare and as nobody would like to sell it seperately |

| | | | go to your local gun shop, or outdoor shop, and buy a twin shotgun/rifle case. make sure its a single cover, and so that the rifles will fit side by side in the case. it should be wide enough, and prefectly acceptable as a guitar case, they even come with combination locks.

Well, personal armament -or whatever it is- is so very hard here unlike the U.S where everybody possesses shotguns to have a chance to perform a headshot one day. Hence your option is very unlikely to happen dude but i will keep that in mind in case i decide to go to the USA one day. |

The interior is actually molded to fit BOTH a Precision and a Jazz, and any other bass that falls within those body outlines. Unfortunately, the case is no longer in production, but I bought one used on evilbay for about $65. Read the user reviews in this link: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ase?sku=544567
It is true that a Stingray body is more similar to a Fender Precision than to a Fender Jazz. I would not expect a Stingray to fit in a molded case that is specifically designed for a snug fit on a Jazz.

Do you see a Stingray fitting in a P-Bass's case? |

I was a bit surprised, because I thought the 'Ray would be too wide down near the output jack; but it works perfectly.
