Is this OLP? The website even links to EBMM's website for a control layout. I didn't think Ernie Ball had knockoffs like this.

As far as I know, since OLP stopped producing Music Man basses a few years back, the only other low-level line of basses Music Man offers are the Ray34 or the SB series, which still feature the Music Man name and headstock.

+1 Get the SUB active while you can still find them. Best gigging Stingray you can buy for the price. Sounds identical to the vintage Stingray with 2 band preamp.

Are the five string OLPs worth $100?

This (IMO) is unquestionably good advice. The OLP (Hanser Musical Prod. line) line was pulled in 2009 when the RAY (I believe) was shown at NAMM.

The consensus was that he OLP was SO inconsistent (& some SO poor) that what Hanser had done with B.C. Rich's name would not be allowed to "take hold". The RAY 34 / 35 was a "multi-Asian" line with necks made in some of the same shops in Korea that supplied some fairly excellent necks for other companies (see Praxis Musical Instrument production elements). Routing and gross assembly took place in Indonesia and the units shipped to the Orange, CA plant for final.

However the first line of SUB's were a price point experiment and some slim margins (profit) maintained as they were fairly good. But you have to give something to get something and most of the first ones were passive. But that can certainly be changed.
Identification (aside from SN#) is found in the "straight" decal "SUB".
